The Women In Politics Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, non-partisan endowment dedicated to political equality. We are Democrats, Independents and Republicans who seek equal representation for women —who seek true democracy in America. We fund programs that bring women into the political process. Our mission is to create a steady stream of qualified women who have the knowledge and the support they need to run a successful campaign for elective office.

We're getting ready for our third year of the Madam President Camp at both UMKC and the KU Edwards Campus!

Below is an invitation to our fundraiser where we will honor Mayor Sly James with the "Distinguished Leadership" award. Several of the girls who have attended the camp will be there to talk further about their experiences during the week. I'd like to personally invite you to attend. Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think might be interested in attending and learning more about the camp.

Currently women occupy only 17% of national elective office. In the Missouri House, only 25% of the representatives are women. The Missouri senate, 14% are women. In Kansas House, only 25% of the representatives are women. Kansas Senate, 32% are women. Our goal is to have greater parity with women occupying at least 50% of all national and statewide elective offices in the near future.
Exciting Projects: The WIP Foundation hosted the first annual Madam President Camp for middle school girls in June of 2012.  The camp, which will be held again in June 2013, will provide girls ages ten to fourteen (grades 5-8) with an exciting introduction to the world of US politics. After the camp, each girl is linked to a mentor who will nurture her political interests. If you would like to be involved in the camp, please contact us.
