The Women in Politics Foundation, Inc (WIP) sponsors projects designed to promote women’s political equality. Our first fund, the Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus Education and Endowment (EEF) fund sponsors the Caucus’s educational projects such as campaign schools, get out the vote campaigns, and voter registration drives.
Our second fund, the Hurlbut Fund, also sponsors projects dedicated to women’s political equality. This fund was launched in 2005 to honor outstanding feminist, Biddy Hurlbut. In 2012, the Hurlbut Fund hosted the first annual Madam President Camp in partnership with the University of Missouri Kansas City. Enrollment has begun for the 2013 session!
WIP’s vision is to grow our family of funds to become the flagship organization dedicated to women in politics. Our work will be done when women participate fully in the entire spectrum of political life and leadership in the United States.
Everybody counts in applying democracy. And there will never be a true democracy until every responsible and law-abiding adult in it, without regard to race, sex, color or creed, has his or her own inalienable and unpurchasable voice in government"
Carrie Chapmen Catt -- 1859-1880
